No Way!

Was it just me, or was Frank on FIRE last night at Youth Group!?  To quote Kat, "he was preachy, but GOOD preachy."  He.he.he....and Frank was sick and hardly able to breathe!  Pray for him that he will get better soon & not cough up a lung in the process. 

 

Did you remember his challenge?  Go to www.ariel.org and click on the "Come and See" area on the left and look around.  Come back next Wednesday with comments on what you found, what you thought and if you did anything more than JUST look.  These are 12 minute Bible studies done by Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum, a solid Bible teacher and Messianic Jew!  You can read the transcript while Dr. Fruchtenbaum is talking and then do the quiz at the end of the lesson!  Way COOL way to get into God's Word and reinforce what you just heard and read!!!

 

I plan to check this out every day during my 30 minute lunch break!  I'll eat physical food while God is feeding me with spiritual food.  How cool is that?

 

This is a great tool to get you started in the right direction of spending time, daily, in God's Word, the Bible!  Keep praying too!!!

Which is exactly what some teens  in the Old Testament did!  Like I mentioned last night, after having Logan stand up, Daniel was probably 16 years old at this time in his life.    There are so many lessons to be learned from the life of Daniel and his peers, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

 

One instant lesson is: be the very best you can be for God, regardless of the circumstances you find yourself in.   Read on.  See how God used Daniel, was faithful to him and protected him from certain death.

Handsome Smart and Conquered Posted: 17 Feb 2009 07:14 AM CST "Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, chief of his court officials, to bring in some of the Israelites from the royal family and the nobility -- young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king's palace." (Daniel 1:3-4) Babylon had conquered Jerusalem and hauled a good portion of the population back home. Four Jewish teenagers we know as Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were included in that group. Part of Babylon's plan for conquering the world forever was to take the good-looking, talented, and smart students from all the nations they defeated — especially the ones connected to royal families — and educate them into good and happy and productive Babylonians. That way, the conquered nation's best and brightest were less likely to ever think about going back home to try to lead their people — and Babylon became all the stronger for putting the world's all-star youth to work for them. All they had to do was to get these kids to conform to Babylonian culture. This week, we'll watch Daniel and his friends try to stand up to authorities and a culture that wanted them to compromise their convictions — and have a good time doing it. Think: Does anyone in your life want you to compromise your biblical convictions? Are you trying to stand strong against that or hoping someone can talk you into trying something new? Pray: Ask God to help you to recognize when friends or media or authority figures are asking you to make a compromise with biblical teaching — and to give you the courage to resist that.
