Why is Jesus so special?

Why is He so critical to our salvation?

Why does knowing Jesus really matter to you & me?

 

Planet Wisdom is going to take a few days to discuss these things and more!  If the Bible is God's story of redeeming love, then Jesus is the principle "hero" in God's story.  Do you think of the Bible as God's love letter to you?  Why or why not?

 

I know many of you are off this week for Easter/Spring Break.  So...you have ooodles of free time to dive into the Bible and check out all of these verses!!! =D  In fact, why not try reading the whole Book of John?  Try to jot down some amazing Truths you learn about Jesus along the way.  Ponder John 15...where Jesus says, "Apart from me you can do nothing..."  What did Jesus mean when we said that?

 

Great stuff to meditate upon & mull over in your heart!!!

Why Jesus? Posted: 13 Apr 2009 01:16 PM PDT "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation." (Colossians 1:15) Could anyone else have done what Jesus did -- dying for our sins on that ugly cross and rising from the dead to secure the victory? Nope. It had to be Jesus. Period. He is unique in all of the universe; without Him we would be lost. We're going to find out this week what makes Him so special. First, you can't see God (John 1:18) -- but many people saw Jesus. We know Him though the Word and so we  have seen the Father (John 14:9). Jesus is the exact essence of the Almight (John 14:9). Nobody else is God. Second: Jesus existed before one molecule of creation came into being. He is everlasting (John 1:1). He has priority over everything and everyone because He was here first. More tomorrow. Think: How well do you know who Jesus really is? Does the idea of knowing Him better excite you or does it feel like homework? Why? Pray: Thank God for letting you know Jesus through faith and through studying Him in the Bible. Thank Him that Jesus allows you to "see" the Father -- and that Jesus has always been.
