oh my, oh my, oh my

Thanks to all of you who supported us while we were waiting at the Emergency Room. My near-fatal collapse from the dead rabbit waiting for us on our doorstep when we arrived home proved to be the low point of our evening.

At first, we thought it was Kate or Allie. Seriously, it looked like one of our precious kitties had snuck out of the house, been attacked by a wild dog or coyote and then thrown in its bloodied, unnatural position upon our threshhold.

The boy, for whom we think the calling card was intended, was, as usual, asleep upon the couch, oblivious to the machinations of some deviants.

We wondered who or whom would do such a malicious and evil act of unconscious cruelty? More importantly, why? What message were they trying to convey? But, unless the culprits are feeling particularly oppressed with guilt and remorse (shown by a token of a steaming plate of chocolate chip/oatmeal cookies), I suppose we'll never know.
