Who are you in the dark?

Who are you when no one is looking?

What do you say and what do you do when you think no one is watching?

Sadly, Christians get fooled into thinking that if they are better than the next person, they are doing okay. It is so easy to "talk" Christianity, but far harder to live it out in the hidden nooks and crannies of our daily lives.

As a reminder, we are to glorify God in our thoughts, words, deeds and attitudes (Philippians 3).

Also, look at what Paul writes:

Don't let yourselves get taken in by religious smooth talk.
God gets furious with people who are full of religious sales talk but want nothing to do with Him. Don't even hang around people like that.
You groped your way through that murk once, but no longer.
You're out in the open now. The bright light of Christ makes your way plain.
So no more stumbling around. Get on with it!
The good, the right, the true--these are the actions appropriate for daylight hours.
Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it.
Don't waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness.
Expose these things for the sham they are. It's a scandal when people waste their lives on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see. Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ.
Wake up from your sleep, climb out of your coffins; Christ will show you the light!
So watch your step.
Use your head.
Make the most of every chance you get.
These are desperate times!
Don't live carelessly, unthinkingly.
Make sure you understand what the Master wants.
Don't drink too much wine. That cheapens your life. Drink the Spirit of God, huge draughts of Him. Sing hymns instead of drinking songs!
Sing songs from your heart to Christ. Sing praises over everything, any excuse for a song to God the Father in the name of our Master, Jesus Christ.
Out of respect for Christ, be courteously reverent to one another.

"Don't live carelessly, unthinkingly."

As believers, we need to realize we always have an audience of One.

As David wrote in Psalm 139, there is no where we can go where God isn't there too:

GOD, investigate my life; get all the facts firsthand.
I'm an open book to you; even from a distance, you know what I'm thinking.
You know when I leave and when I get back; I'm never out of your sight.
You know everything I'm going to say before I start the first sentence.
I look behind me and You're there, then up ahead and You're there, too-- Your reassuring presence, coming and going. This is too much, too wonderful-- I can't take it all in! Is there anyplace I can go to avoid Your Spirit? to be out of Your sight?
If I climb to the sky, You're there!
If I go underground, You're there!
If I flew on morning's wings to the far western horizon, You'd find me in a minute-- You're already there waiting!
Then I said to myself, "Oh, He even sees me in the dark! At night I'm immersed in the light!"
It's a fact: darkness isn't dark to You; night and day, darkness and light, they're all the same to You.
(Psalms 139:1-12 MSG)

If we are called to glorify God in our thoughts, words, deeds and attitudes (and we are) -
What does that look like in the dark?
What does that look like in your private thoughts?
What does that look like at the mall with your friends?
What does that look like in your diary, on your blog, your myspace, your im's?
When you think no one is looking, who are you?

As believers, we belong to Jesus Christ.

We are supposed to reflect Him, and Him alone.

Please pray for me that this Truth will be evident in my life, every moment of every day.

More than anything, let us pray for one another that we fall more in love with God!
