...what kind of pumpkin are you....

We are on the eve of my favorite time of year – The Fall! If we lived back East, we’d go on hayrides, go apple picking and travel up the coast to see beautiful hues of gold, red, and yellow, orange, brown and even some green leaves on the trees for peak fall season! Pumpkins are now available at the grocery store and patches around the county.

I’m not so much a big Halloween fan anymore, but I do enjoy carving a pumpkin or two. Here are some samples of my artwork from years’ past.

Following is a passage and a copy of an email Frank sent out today. The analogy is pretty good! If you are a believer, then you are a purchased vessel for God’s use and design (If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth; knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. -1 Peter 1:17-19). Reflect on the idea that you are to be a light of the world. And, reflect on how you are to let your light shine before men.

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” [Jesus said this…]
(Matthew 5:14-16)

Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin.
God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.
He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff-- including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.
Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for the world to see.
This was passed on to me from another pumpkin.
Now, it is your turn to pass it to a pumpkin.
I liked this enough to send it to all the pumpkins in my patch.
